Silly Girl!

CB continues to make us laugh on a daily basis with her silly expressions and her growing vocabulary! She has learned to pray and that is the most precious thing I have ever heard! She will usually start by putting her hands over her eyes and then she'll say, "Heppa Fadder" and then she will name the person she is praying for and then "Amen!" We pray every morning in the car and every night at bedtime. Although I know she doesn't understand, it is still precious to hear her say "Jesus" and "Amen." Last night, she busted out with "God is great" and then she continued with "God is great, let us....FOOD!" So, she is learning...we practiced it again this morning and she loves to say the mealtime prayer.

Last night we got a really good laugh! I went to my women's Bible study and she kept asking Randy, "Where's mommy?" And he told her several times that I was at Bible study. Well, at one point Randy asked CB, "Where's mommy?" and without missing a beat she said, "Tim Buck Too!" He fell on the floor laughing! When he asked her if she had just said, "Tim Buck Too" she grinned and started laughing! She told him that she learned it from Ms. Helen! She is a mess, but we are entertained and we love it!

Birthday plans are under way and I am so excited about her Minne Mouse party! I ordered some great invitations and other doo dads from Etsy.com (greatest website ever) and I am sure before it's all over I will order more! The invitations are a Minnie head with a pink bow and the lady who made them threw in a bunch of confetti! They are festive and fun. We are just going to have another low key party again this year at our house. We are going to invite a few of her friends this year, but I am nervous about the space! Oh well. I guess we will just have to make it work.

Over the Weekend...

We had a good weekend, despite the fact that I, mommy am in pretty bad pain from a sciatic flare up! I was carrying CB last Monday and stepped off an uneven surface, rolled my ankle and I have been in pain ever since. I am going to PT tomorrow and I am hoping that she will work some magic so I will be able to walk and stand without pain! We celebrated Grandmommy and Uncle Greggie's birthdays on Sunday, Saturday CB was a model for the Hollywood Ranch (more details on her modeling career below) and Friday night we had dinner with Pa Pa and Grandma. This fuzzy face game was actually a gift for my brother, go figure.
He and CB are two peas in a pod!
As you can see from the concentration on their faces, they
are really enjoying this silly game!
This was priceless. CB decided not to take a nap on Saturday! When it was naptime, she chattered away and neglected sleep. We looked over at dinner and saw this! Naturally we died laughing and I snapped a quick photo. She stayed asleep until I woke up her for her bath. She was NOT happy about it, but you know what...that's what ya get when you choose to skip your nap Miss Priss!

So the Hollywood Ranch is back! After some ownership changes, they have emerged again and we were asked to model some of the spring line! We tried on the clothes Friday night at home and this was the best shot I could get! CB likes to move and mommy's iPhone can't keep up with her. But, as you can see the dress is really cute! As for her modeling...well...let's just say I am not going to quit my day job and turn her into a child star. Of course, I would do that if she would cooperate, but this little lady has a mind of her own and she wasn't having any part of the modeling! We went to the park and I tried to bribe her with swinging, but after it was all said and done, I was in bad pain from my sciatica and she was fussy, therefore no swinging! She was more interested in playing with the ice in the ice chest and sticking the straw in the Capri Sun! I think the photographer was able to get a few good shots while CB was distracted, but if she knew she was supposed to model it was a fight to the finish!

This bubble suit is another one of the outfits she modeled! She actually got some good shots of CB in this one. I will post them when and if I ever get to see them!

Classic CB

We got some good footage of CB in her usual state on Tuesday night. She doesn't really open up like this in front of many people, so just know that this behavior is constant. It's funny. We laugh.

"Two Babies"

Our friends Todd and Susan were doubly blessed on Tuesday with the arrival of "two babies!" When we talk about Susan, CB always says, "Susu and two babies" so that is what we are calling them for now. Their actual names are Elise Rose (pink hat) and Lily Todd. Both were right around six pounds and 19 inches long! Elise was born first and had to spend time in the NICU. I think it was mainly because she ingested a bunch of gunk in her lungs and they just needed some time to clear out. Lily came second and she was raring to go! We got to meet Lily that evening, but CB and I have yet to meet Elise. Randy got to hold them both on Wednesday though! Hopefully we will make it over there soon so that we can give Elise kisses too. As for Todd, Susan and Henley...well I think they are overjoyed and overwhelmed with the thought of what two babies will bring! Henley is thrilled to be a big sister and is a natural "mommy" when it comes to her baby dolls so I have no doubt that she will do great with her new sisters. All babies are miracles, but twins? That is a mind blower...especially when you think about how they were born (naturally) and now how they look at each other (see photo below). It's just amazing and such a sign that God is REAL and He handcrafts everything perfectly.
After returning from the NICU Elise says, "Hey sis! I am back!"

A New Place

We are so excited about CB's new place of residence while Mommy is working! We survived the first two days with minimal crying! Daddy dropped her off this morning because I had to be somewhere at 7am for work. He said she cried when he left. I am going to choose to believe it's because she wanted me, but maybe it was just because she figured out that she has to stay all day. Who knows! But she got the hang of things and seems to be happy about the change. Helen told me that she is "strong-willed" when it comes to eating! Ha! Ha! I probably should have warned her about that, but she found out quickly that when CB says she is "all done" she is "all done!" Her vocabulary truly amazes me right now! I am anxious to hear all about what she is learning and I know that she is really going to enjoy the structure and the fun activities in her new place! Thank you Lord for providing this wonderful couple!

Football Time!

Well it's almost time! August brings extreme heat and with that we know that football season is right around the corner! We kicked it off by going to the Highland Park family picnic (although we ate inside)! CB enjoyed running on the indoor turf and hanging with Granddaddy! We got to see the new football facility and eat some Chik-fil-A. She doesn't have a cheerleader uniform, yet, but she has pom poms and a cute little Scot onesie that still fits from last year. I am holding out on the cheerleader outfit, after all...I am not going to endorse that in any way, but the outfits are really cute, so I am sure she'll end up with one soon! Eye roll! :)

Big Changes

We are meeting with a couple today that will potentially keep CB beginning on Monday. JoJo and her family are moving to Sherman so we have been looking for a new place for several months now. I had written this couple off because we didn't think they were going to have a spot for her, but low and behold she called on Friday and said she wanted to meet with us! I am really excited because she will be close to my office and also close to my parent's house so it's a win/win. I'll have to find someone to keep her in the summer, but that is a long time from now. This couple have been keeping kids for more than 20 years and they have a little school inside their home. All of the meals are homemade and she will be learning in a structured environment with only 3 other kids. This is such a great scenario! I hope that CB will adjust well and that it will be like a new home to her. Jodi has been a blessing and we are going to miss her so much. :( CB and Jaci have become good friends, so we hope to maintain their friendship through playdates, etc... It won't be the same without our sweet JoJo around, but we wish her all the best!!
