Rangers Galore!

It has been nuts around here with baseball-mania! Lo and behold the Rangers made it to the World Series and it was one of the most exciting times in sports history that I have ever lived through! We never thought this day would come, but it finally did and my dad and I couldn't stand to stay away! We went to game 4 on Sunday (Halloween) and it was a thrill! The crowd was electric and the weather was perfect! Unfortunately the Rangers lost, but it will always be a great memory! We saw Henry (Hank) Aaron on the field, the two Bush Presidents were there to throw out the first pitch and Lyle Lovett sang the National Anthem.
I love this shot!

A huge American flag covered the outfield during the National Anthem!

Here we are several hours before game time! Ha! Ha!

A shot that proves that a World Series game was really played in Arlington!

This was taken on the day of Game 3. Cooper, Jackson, Kylie, Mr. Richard and CB all wore Rangers gear that day!

Boo at the Zoo

Last Friday, I took the day off and we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. They have a great event called Boo at the Zoo that is really toddler friendly! She had a great time looking at the animals and collecting treats. We met Aunt Chica and her family (mom Karen, aunt Amy, brother Will) and of course little Abby came too! Babbs was dressed like a bumble bee and CB was Minnie!
Not sure what to make of all the activity!

Picking out a treat!

Party at Helen's

Clara Beth loves going to Ms. Helen's house everyday! She loves her friends and she enjoys the activities and the home cooking! She got to have a birthday party and celebrate at Ms. Helen's house on her actual birthday. I took pink cupcakes and we made goodie bags for the kids!

Minnie Extravaganza!

Well the birthday party was quite a hit! Clara Beth really enjoyed herself this year! We had family and just a few of her girl friends over and it was still overwhelming to me! Ha! Ha! She got a lot of Minnie Mouse stuff, a dress-up trunk, clothes, Princess shoes, a suitcase, two purses and a Minne Mouse silver charm! I would say she it set for awhile on the Minnie Mouse attire! Here are a few pictures from the big event!

Surprise Visit!

My friend Wendee, her son Reed and her mom Debbie Sue were over in my neck of the woods today and we got to have lunch! It was a wonderful surprise and I am officially head-over-heels in love with this little guy! He was so good while we ate lunch...he just sat in his seat as happy as can be. And then I got to hold him and steal kisses! Oh my goodness! His grin will melt your heart and his cheeks are to die for! I can't wait to get my hands on him again! I loved visiting with my old friends and meeting a new one...they are precious to me!

Two, Really?!

So, Thursday is the big day! Our precious angel turns two! Hard to believe, but it's true. I have been looking back at her baby pictures and I am in awe. It's like that time wasn't real or something. I can't really remember it. I guess hormones wipe out your memory! I am just so amazed at how much she has changed in such a little amount of time. She was so chunky and dark-headed and now she is slimmed down (still a little chunky) and completely blonde! Her personality overflows...I look back and think about her as a sweet little baby and how all that personality was just dying to come out! She is definitely prissy and in charge! I love it though and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We are having a mini birthday party for her on Thursday at Ms. Helen's house. She and her friends will get to eat cupcakes and open little goodie bags! And then on Saturday we are having her full-blown Minnie Mouse party at our house. I am not sure who is more excited, me or her!

I wrote this poem for her and I put it on her baby announcement. I thought I would post it today just so I can read it again. I worked on it for about three months...I am obviously not a poet, but I am proud of it because it was written from my heart to hers....

Our family was complete
But still we longed for you
A precious child to love and raise
Sent from above so true

We prayed for you so many nights
Expecting you to come
But God kept saying to us both, "Wait my precious daughter and my son"

Finally the day has come
And now we look at you
You are a well-known child of God
Knitted perfectly in the womb

Sweet Clara Beth, so clear and bright
Your light shines to those around
May Jesus guide and lead your path
To keep you safe and sound

Go Rangers!

CB has been obsessed with baseball since the summer! Everytime she sees any game on TV she will scream, "Baseball game!" even if it's football! Ha! Ha! Her granddaddy is really happy about this! She got to go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field and the Ranger game in June so she is hooked now. I don't even feel bad having the game on at home because she loves to watch it and scream, "Go Rangers!" So now she is a true FAN sporting her antlers! We can't wait to watch the game tonight and we will all be cheering them on! Let's hope that Cliff Lee does what he was made to do!

So Much Going On!

Well one thing is for sure...we are staying busy! We have had a few play dates and several outings lately! It's always fun to watch CB play with her friends and learn new things. Speaking of learning, I am thrilled to announce that she counted to ten in Spanish all by herself this morning! We have been working on it for a couple of weeks now and she has it down! I made a big deal out of it by screaming when she finished. I don't think she really knew why I was celebrating, but she laughed anyway.

In addition, she is completely aware of the birthday process now. She talks about her birthday coming up pretty much non-stop. We practice singing the "Happy Birthday" song in the car and she pretends to blow out the candles. We will see how well she does when it's time for the real thing!

Her favorite songs right now are Baa Baa Black Sheep, the Wheels On the Bus (specifically the part about the horn going beep beep beep), Jesus Loves the Little Children (where after we list the colors red, yellow, black and white she interjects PINK), and our own made up songs about her friends (Henley, two babies, Toddy, Susu, Baby Rylee, Sonie and Scott).

For several years now Randy and I have had this ongoing joke about a man named Buford Waldrip. Mr. Waldrip is an attorney in Rockwall and his office is a little house that we pass on our way to church. Anyway, we love the name Buford Waldrip. Isn't that a great name? Say it out loud. It's just great. Nearly every Sunday for several years now, when we pass Buford Waldrip's office we either say his name out loud OR we try to work his name into the conversation we are having. And we try to be discreet about it so the other person won't know that it's coming...(ok side note here...yall know that Randy and I are completely ridiculous). So on Sunday, Randy and I are having a conversation, we turn past Buford Waldrip's office and low and behold from the back seat comes a soft, "Buuu Walldrip". I looked at Randy, he looked at me...I said, "Did she just say what I think she said?" And we both went into complete hysterics! Randy told her that she is officially part of our family now. Ha! Ha! I was in shock. Of all things! She knew when we turned by his office to say his name. If only sweet Buford knew of such silliness! We will never tell him!

As we drove on by Buford's office we were met with a long line of cars. It was traffic from a triathlon. We sat and sat and sat, so that made us late to church. Instead of being late to church, we just headed out to the Fair. The Fair was too crowded and too hot, but we managed to see some animals, scarf down a corney dog and ride the merry-go-round. The Roby crew met us out there!

A shot of the Midway. CB is the speck in the stroller! Ha! Ha!
It was a good idea in theory. The merry-go-round is harmless. She clung onto my shirt for dear life. I was wishing we had just sat on the bench instead of sitting on a horse. Oh well.

A little sample of State Fair junk food.

Susu, Henley, Me and CB

We saw lots of animals! Her favorites were the little baby chicks and the pigs. Here we are in front of a cow!

On Saturday, CB had her two year photos taken by my childhood friend Paige Emery. Paige lives in Little Rock, but came in town to do some photos for her local friends. We met her at a very scenic area in Highland Park for the photos. I am anxious to see how they turned out. CB did really well! I was holding my breath though since we are in that fun, fun phase where you never know when we are going to have a full on hysteric meltdown. Luckily, Grandmommy and Granddaddy were there to help buffer some of the fussiness! Here are Granddaddy and CB checking out the little stream and looking at rocks.

Just having a blast at the playground!

Not sure what this face means, but I thought it was funny!

4 out of 6.
We had a playdate with some precious friends a few weekends ago. Here are four of the six kids who were present. Cale posing on the ledge, Carson playing on the floor, Riley touching the wall and CB not sure what to think about all of the boys. The twins, Luke and Allie are not pictured! We had a great time playing and catching up! What a blessing that just about three years ago, Kristin, Christy and I were all labeled as "infertile" and now look at what we have here. LOL!!

Beautiful Fall

October swept in with a beautiful entrance! The cooler temps and lots of sunshine made for a perfect weekend. We spent time relaxing and enjoying outside. Saturday we went to the park and CB got to swing and watch Bo play with some other dogs! Then we headed over to the square to the farmer's market. I wish I had taken advantage of this little gold mine before now! We picked up some fresh okra and tomatoes! There are two more weekends for the market and I hope I can make it to both! The Roby clan made it out to Rockwall so that was a treat! It was the first time for the "two babies" to come to our house so CB was so excited to show them around! Ha! Ha! Not really...CB just likes to hold them and kiss them on the head. Sunday we went to church and the sermon was directed toward kids. All of the kids were in the service (rather than going to their kid classrooms) and our pastor spoke to them about honoring and obeying parents! I had to get the cd so I can share it with CB one day! Hee Hee!! We went to the park again Sunday evening and saw lots of people out playing. The photographers were out in droves! And then Monday was Fair Day!! We didn't make it to the Fair, but we did make it to the party store for some birthday supplies and then out to Highland Park Village and North Park! CB was a champ! She was such a good little shopper! We ended the weekend with a visit from Grandma and Paw Paw. I cooked a yummy dinner (if I do say so myself)!

Chowing down on chicken nuggets!

Playing in the water fountains with Grandmommy!

Our newest obsession...pushing the stroller.

Best Buds

There hasn't been much mention of our sweet little Bobo in awhile so I thought I would dedicate this post to him. CB is obsessed with holding his leash right now! She won't even let Randy or me touch it! I know it drives poor Bo nutty, but she is in CHARGE! Ha! He is such a good doggie! He puts up with her pulling his hair and trying to ride him really well...for the most part! He will make a shrill squeak when it hurts and I always feel so bad. Most of the time CB is really sweet to him and she loves to give him kisses! I thought these pics were too good not to post.

My three loves...

Focus CB!! Focus!!

So adorable!

Love the shades!

Ok, so how cute are they?!!

Henley Turns Four!

We helped celebrate Henley's princess birthday a few weeks ago! CB and Henley were both dressed in pink tutus...go figure! The princess had a castle cake, a new swing set in the backyard and lots of friends! This year, we had Lily and Elise around too, but they just slept most of the time. Birthday princess Henley and Clara Beth!

A Little This...A Little That...

A typical glare if you try to take something away from her!

CB and her cousin Abigail at Buttons in Fort Worth!

We went to the HP game a few weeks ago and CB had a big time running on the field before the game and then eating an entire box of popcorn! Ok, well she didn't eat all of it...mommy helped her! It was a perfect night! Gorgeous weather and the Scots won. It was actually a very interesting game because they played a team from Mexico City!

Here's a fun family shot before the game! Playing on the field!

I love this photo because it depicts our relationship right now. "No mommy! Do not do that"...hmmm...I am pretty sure I am going to have my work cut out for me!

This was at the Hollywood Ranch photo shoot. CB had more fun playing with ice than she did actually modeling the clothes!
