What a Difference a Year Makes!

One year ago we began the IVF process! In January and February we were doing injections and we found out we were pregnant on my birthday - February 24! 2008 was the best year of my life as I was surrounded by family and friends celebrating the most precious gift imaginable. I decided to recap the year in pictures so you have to start at the bottom and come back up. February 2009
Baby CB was born in October! FINALLY!!! The long wait was over and
I got to hold her in my arms!

Enjoying showers in September!

The nursery almost complete in August!

Preparing the nursery in July!

This is in June when we found out that Baby Lew is a GIRL!

Here I am in May on my first Mother's Day! I was 13 weeks!

This was taken on my birthday weekend last February! The same weekend we found out that we were pregnant! It was so much fun, but also the most nervous I have ever been in my life!

A Special Weekend!

Clara Beth had a big weekend! We celebrated her baby dedication on Friday and Sunday with a birthday party sandwiched in between on Saturday. She was a perfect angel at both dedications. On Friday night Lake Pointe held a special service for parents, families and friends in Pier 419. We chose a verse from Luke - "For nothing is impossible with God" as her dedication verse. It is just fitting for our situation and we believe it with all of our hearts. Sunday morning we went in front of the congregation to reaffirm our committment to raise her in a Godly home. It was a surreal moment as I have seen so many other families do it before us and I was so happy it was finally our turn.

On Saturday, CB attended her first birthday party! It was Liam's 3rd birthday...hard to believe he is already three! He is all boy and had the best time opening his gifts! He got lots of fun toys and a Cowboys t-shirt from CB, Randy and me.

Last night, I decided to pull out the Bumbo chair just see how she would do and I was stunned to find that she can sit up perfectly! I was so happy but also a little sad that she is growing up! I think she liked sitting in it so we will keep practicing daily. Before long she won't need the Bumbo chair!

Three Months

Alright people. Forgive me. Does anyone even still look at this? Oh well, if you do still take an occasional peek, thank you. If not, I don't blame you. I have been terrible at keeping up with it! Clara Beth is 3 months old today! She is a really happy baby. She loves to smile at us when we act silly and her favorite time of the day is bath time. We are both head over heels in love with her and BoBo seems to be coming around too. I went back to work on January 5th and it's been torture. Luckily, she is only 4 minutes away at my friend Jodi's house. I know she is in good care, but it's just hard letting go during the day. I have made my way over there a few times during lunch. Being a mom is more amazing than I ever imagined. I could hold CB all day and never get tired. She is such a miracle and a blessing to our family.

Six Weeks

CB turned six weeks yesterday! She slept six hours last night so maybe we haved turned a corner! I better not speak too soon though. She weighs a whopping 11 lbs. now. The child likes to eat! My back hurts and I have pains in places I didn't know exist..this mom thing is a good workout. Who knew? We are so excited about the holidays this year! My decor is out but I need two more stockings. We will also be celebrating Bo's first bday on Christmas Day. What do you get a dog that wants for nothing? Ha!

Four Weeks

CB chillin in her comfy pink chair!

Edee Sue and her mommy came to visit! Special friends finally got to meet and play.

This is the princess in her pink tutu!

Wow! This mommy thing is amazing, but soooooooo hard! Time flies by so quickly and I haven't had a chance to do much updating lately. Anytime CB sleeps I rush around trying to do little things like brush my teeth and scarf down food! She is amazing! We are learning so much about our precious miracle everyday. She smiles and makes the best facial expressions! She is probably going to be a daddy's girl as she already makes his heart melt daily. Here are a few photos from the past few weeks!

Two Weeks

Hidy folks! I know it's been a long time since I updated the blog but I ran into a few obstacles with my computer! We are up and running now so hopefully I will do better from now on. As you can see, CB is doing GREAT and she is a cutie patootie. It's been the best two weeks of my life...just looking at her makes my heart melt. Randy has been so busy with work lately, but that should come to an end after the Stampede is over next week. I know he misses us and wants to be home and we want him home too! I have been asked how CB is sleeping and eating and well I can say she does it all perfectly well. The child doesn't miss a meal or a nap so I guess we are off to a good start! She gets her love of formula from her father and her love of the nap from me. Ha! Ha!! Thanks for all of the kind messages! Keep them coming!

"For this child we have prayed"

Randy and I are thrilled to inform everyone that we finally have CB in our arms! She came on Tuesday, October 21 at 10:15p.m. It was the hardest day of my life that ended in overwhelming joy and excitement! Randy has been the most incredible person, husband, coach and daddy that I could ask for. CB LOVES him and so do I. We have enjoyed every minute, even the hard ones and we are looking forward to just loving her and giving her the best life we can possibly give. It's an incredible feeling that we have waited for...waited for five years to be honest. The past nine months have been hard because we have wanted her here, but she is worth the wait. Enjoy looking at the photos. I will do better at posting them when I get back to life in Rockwall! Hanging with mommy. We are having fun!
Did someone say cheeks?

Susu came to visit! Her daddy changed her very first diaper! It was the first diaper he has ever changed and would you believe he did it perfectly!

Love at first sight!
Here she is on the scale! Everyone couldn't believe it. Nine pounds Six ounces!
CB made it and it was glorious! And oh yeah...did I mention she was BIG?

Epidurals are gooooooooood!!!!!!!
