My Little Love

It is hard to believe how my love grows for this little girl. I can't describe it. I know that you probably already understand the depth of my love, but it has been so much fun for me to discover it daily! I think I have most of her cries figured out now and that makes me happy. I am normally a rule follower, but I have busted out of my shell when it comes to the sleeping rule. She sleeps with me. I know, I know...I am a terrible mom. She will probably be spoiled rotten and will be an unruly child. I will have heck to pay when she turns 13, right? Maybe so, but when she wakes up next to me and gives me a huge grin in the dark at 3am it's hard to resist.

On to another subject...CB had her first date on Saturday! We went to the Galleria and met my friend Jennifer and her little boy Dax. He is adorable! He gave CB a little doggie with a heart. We had lunch and then walked around the mall. Believe it or not, Jennifer opened my eyes to a little store called, "Baby Gap"! Ever heard of it?! I have too but for some reason I had never fully grasped the GREATNESS! I am chomping at the bit to go back but I think I'll wait until I get paid again! Ha! Ha!

Who can resist this Valentine?

dearest allison,
it is not bad to sleep with your child! it is actually the safest place for her to be - right there with you. it is sad that we have been misconceived in the US and told that our babies are safer in cribs in another room. cosleeping/bedsharing is quite the common practice in most of the world. it makes for more continuous and easier breastfeeding for both mother and baby - who wants to get OUT of bed in the middle of the night to go and feed the baby? hello? not this mom. i do not understand this and i do not wish to offend, but it feels most natural to me to sleep with the child. and, yes, the smile as the first thing you see in the morning is the BEST thing ever as a parent. some of our best bonding moments have been first thing in the morning ~ such a special time for me and jayvyn. he still sleeps with us - we totally enjoy family bed. he will one day sleep in another room, but when we are all ready. i love you and am so happy for you and your family. the journey of mothering and parenthood is a beautiful one - one i'm happy to be on and share with you, my dearest, oldest friend. much love and light to you, cb and randy ~ as always!! love, amy
