Mother's Day

I had an awesome Mother's Day weekend! Randy let me take a morning nap before my hour and a half massage! It was heavenly! Then we went to the park and played! I am not sure why, but my little Clara Beth is really funny about new things, especially when she is not in control. I am not sure how to describe it other than to say she has to "warm up" to the idea. And this goes with just about everything from new shoes, new clothes, new foods and swinging! We thought she would eventually stop crying once she got going, but no mam! She screamed and screamed and wanted "OUT MAMA!" So what can I say? She's probably not going to the be the adventuresome or daring type, which is fine with me! Maybe it will help me to keep my hair a little longer and my stress level a little lower.

Saturday evening, we went to church and heard an awesome message about marriage. I love that our church really focuses on the value of family, and emphasizes that it all begins with a strong marriage. It was a nice reminder that I need to be more intentional about paying attention to my husband, especially now when life is so busy. I don't praise him enough, but I am so thankful for him and his influence on our lives. We had dinner with Randy's parents and then watermelon for dessert!

On actual Mother's Day, we went to Ft. Worth and spent time with the Fox family and my parents. Erica's mom served enchiladas and we had all the Mexican trimmings! The weather was dreary so we didn't swim, but CB had a blast playing basketball with her uncle Greg and Aunt Chica! It was actually chilly outside (I was freezing), but she wanted to stay "SIDE" as she calls it all day long! We go "side" when we get home everyday to play with BoBo and she loves to blow "Bubbish." Her vocabulary is growing and I am amazed at her thought processes. It's so much fun to watch the little wheels spinning!

This year on Mother's Day weekend I said many "thank you" prayers. I am so grateful that I am here to watch CB grow, and that she is healthy and thriving. It seems like I know of so many sad things that have happened since January, friends dealing with tragedies and people who are struggling. I wish I didn't know about these things...I try my best to stay in my bubble so that I don't dwell and worry, but it's impossible. My heart goes out to the families who have lost their mothers too soon, mothers who have lost children and friends who are still struggling to become mothers. The message at church this past Sunday was to be thankful for every day that the Lord gives you. If you are alive, it's because it's the will of God. We shouldn't take any moment for granted and I believe this wholeheartedly.

Love, Sweet Love

Oh how I love thee, Let me count thy ways...

Hanging with the Hersleys

I know, what is this? Two postings in one week? I told you I was going to do better! We spent some time with our friends the Hersleys last weekend. They have two daughters, Hannah and Ella and twin boys, Andrew and Lucas. The twins are only four months older than CB so they had a good time...well sorta...They played nice, let's just put it that way! The twins weren't sure what to think of Miss Sassy Pants and she spent most of her time obsessing over their new little puppy, Sadie. CB definitely found out that she loves the Barbie Jeep, so I guess that will be on the list for Santa in the near future!

This Barbie Jeep was a hit!

Cute little Sadie!

CB was not happy right after this was taken! A little too close for comfort! Ha! Ha!

Not sure what she is thinking here, but it's intense!

Hammering the sippy!

"Don't make me stand by these boys Mommy!"

Slacker!

Ok, so I know it's been way too long since the last posting! I am getting too accustomed to putting photos on Facebook so I have neglected CB's blog! I will try to do better from now on. I have added several photos from the past several weeks and the captions will fill you in on what we have been doing. Clara Beth has a strong will and is really one of the most joyful, funny and expressive kids I have ever seen. She makes us laugh every day! She has mastered the run, and can say her ABC's and her vowels (ok, not perfectly, but she can say them)! She loves the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and her favorite book is Cinderella (aka Lalalala). I wish there was a way to stop time. I guess every parent wishes for that, but I lament over it all the time. I don't want her to change any more! She is perfect in every way!

Easter morning!

About to get Easter goodies from Grandma and Pa Pa!

About to dial up a homie on her new Cinderella cell phone!

Easter Goodness!

Celebrating Daddy's birthday in March! He is still really fun and cute!

We went to Ft. Worth to visit Erica and Abby! It was a beautiful day for a stroll in the park!

CB Favorites!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the past few months!

Happy 2010!

My brother and his brand new baby girl, Abigail Marie!

Ok, so I realize that it's been a ridiculous amount of time since I made an update to the blog! Life is just busy and I forget. Let's see...we are full speed ahead in 2010! We celebrated the birth of a baby cousin on January 5, and she is already an enormous blessing to us! CB is finally walking and that happened on her 15 month birthday almost to the day. She isn't running yet, thank goodness, but she is definitely venturing off on her two little feet. She weighs 23 lbs. and the doctor said that she is in tip top shape her age. Her favorite songs to sing (and believe me she sings them) are "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Row Row Row Your Boat!" In fact, she likes to combine the two and sing, "Row Row Row Itsy Bitsy Spider." It's pretty cute and we encourage as much singing as possible!!!

We made a trip over to Fort Worth a few weeks ago to attend the Stockshow Parade! We got to see our friends the Neubauers and my friend Shanna was in town from Beaumont! It was great to catch up with Wendee and Shanna and then we got to see Greg, Erica and baby Abby.

Last weekend, CB attended her first concert at Eastridge Park. We love listening to Merry Miller who is a wonderful harpist. She brought her music along with her friend Gary Levinson, a world renowned violinist to Mesquite so we joined in the fun! CB did really well and I hope that Merry's beautiful music skills will rub off on her.
