Loved It!

My first Mother's Day was exceptional! We went to church and then to one of my favorite places...North Park! We had lunch at La Duni and then shopped for a few necessities. Randy and CB gave me the most beautiful ring and everytime I wear it I will think of how special my first Mother's Day was! The weather was beautiful and CB was in a good mood. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Especially Thankful

I have been contemplating Mother's Day for a few days now. I am so grateful to finally be a mother and to have been given the most precious gift imaginable. For several years I dreaded this special day because it was always a hard reminder that I didn't have a child. Don't get me wrong, I loved celebrating my mother and mother-in-law, but there was always a very deep sadness within me. I skipped church many times just to avoid the Mother's Day hoopla and tried to put it out of my mind. I have friends who are still in that same boat. I know they are dreading this day and my heart hurts for them. It is supposed to be a joyous day, but when you want more than anything to have a child, it's anything but joyous. I don't ever want to forget that feeling because it reminds me to never take my child for granted and because it is important to remember those who are in that place. I am beyond thankful for CB's life, her health, her pretty hair, her smile, her fat rolls, her blue eyes, her laugh and for the constant happiness that I feel everyday when I hold her. She will never understand the depth of my love and that's ok. I'll just kiss her face, squeeze her little body and thank the Lord for the millionth time for her - and I will be especially thankful on this first Mother's Day.

Cutie Pies!

CB got to meet Jae Min this week! It was great to see the interaction between them, just like they were old friends! Jae Min is a little scooter! He is already crawling and moving around quickly. It will be fun to watch them grow up together and we are looking forward to future play dates and lots of exciting times. Jae Min is so lucky...there are just no words to describe it!

Love At First Sight

Jay made it to Korea and finally met his son for the first time yesterday. This was happening while we (Courtney, me and friends) were sipping ritas at Primos! We had to do something to take the edge off, right?! It was around 8pm last night (10am in Korea) that Jay met Jae Min. What a surreal moment it must have been! If only we could have been a fly on the wall. They should be heading back Thursday (which is really Friday in Korea) and will be here in the US tomorrow morning. I am sad that I won't get to go and greet them at the airport, but I know we will get to meet Jae Min soon enough. I absolutely cannot wait!

Little Jae Is On His Way!

Our precious friends, the Jordans have been in the process of adoption for several years now. It's been a long, emotional road but it's finally about to come to a happy end! Big J is on his way to Korea this week to bring little J home. The adoption process is wonderful, but grueling at the same time. Little J's mom, dad and sister receive updates on him and photos but they can't touch or hug him. But all of that is about to end and we are thrilled! If you read this post this week throw up a prayer for safe travel and for a smooth transition for Little J as he is welcomed into his new home in Texas! Jae Min and CB are just three months apart so we are expecting them to be great friends.

Sittin Pretty!

Little CB can sit up! It happened out of the blue one day. I was holding her up and then all of a sudden she had it down. We have not mastered the crawl though. I am always surprised when people ask me if she is crawling. Do babies crawl at 5 and 6 months? She enjoys playing on her tummy and she thinks about how she can get from one spot to the next, but crawling we are not! I think I am fine with that too! I don't want her to crawl...if she crawls that means the days of infancy are on the way out. Boo Hoo!!!
